Application of FIR phase adjustment:
a. The audio system may have speakers in different positions, such as hanged line array speakers, and subwoofer speakers placed on the ground. The sound waves they emit will overlap in one area. Due to the unequal distance between this area and the two sets of speakers, the sound waves will have unequal delays, resulting in a phase difference. In order to achieve the maximum sound pressure level in the overlapping area, the phase characteristic curve of the system needs to be adjusted so that the phase characteristic curves of the two sets of speakers fit in the overlapping area.b. Changes in the amplitude-frequency characteristics can cause changes in the phase-frequency characteristics. Frequency division of the full-frequency loudspeaker will change the amplitude-frequency characteristics of the high and low-pass filters in the frequency range of the amplitude reduction, resulting in changes in the phase-frequency characteristic curve. The degree of change increases with the decrease of the amplitude-frequency characteristic curve. The amplitude-frequency characteristic curve of the full-frequency loudspeaker in the cross-overlapping area of the high and middle frequency bands will change due to the phase relationship, resulting in changes in the amplitude-frequency characteristics and sound pressure level of the cross-overlapping area.
